Create a quiz consignment

This commodity is for teachers with a Google Workspace for Pedagogy account. If you don't know your Google Workspace business relationship, ask your administrator.

You can create a quiz assignment in Classroom where students complete and submit a Google Forms quiz. You can assign the quiz consignment to 1 or more classes or to individual students, schedule it to post later, add a due engagement and time, and add attachments.

Google Forms can automatically grade the quiz and you can import the grades into Classroom. Students can run across their grades immediately or after you review their answers. You tin also lock a quiz on Chromebooks managed by your schoolhouse.

Pace 1: Create the assignment

  1. Click the classand then Classwork.
  2. At the top, click Create and then Quiz consignment.

  3. Enter the title and any instructions.
  4. (Optional) To prevent students who use Chromebooks managed by your schoolhouse from opening other webpages when taking the Forms quiz, next toLocked way on Chromebooks, click Turn on"".
  5. (Optional) To import grades, next to Grade importing, click Plough on"".

Stride 2: Set up your quiz in Google Forms

When yous create a quiz assignment, Classroom creates a bare quiz using Google Forms and attaches the grade to the assignment.

In the assignment, click the Forms quiz attachment and set upwardly your quiz. Y'all can let students run into their grade immediately afterwards they submit their answers. If you change the name of the quiz in Google Bulldoze, the name is updated in Classroom.

Lock a quiz on Chromebooks

If students are using Chromebooks managed past your school, you tin can lock the Chromebook while they have a quiz. When the Chromebook is locked, students tin't open other browser tabs. Create a quiz confirmation bulletin

When students submit a quiz in Forms, they get a confirmation message. You can customize this message for any Forms quiz. For example, you lot might want to requite students a date that you'll grade and return their answers.

  1. In Forms, open a quiz.
  2. Click Settings "" and then Presentation.
  3. Under Confirmation message, enter your text and click Salvage.

Change the point value for questions

The point value for questions is automatically set to zero. To modify the default betoken value for questions:

  1. In Forms, open a quiz.
  2. At the top, click More "" and then Preferences.
  3. If y'all want to alter the default value for all questions in the quiz, bank check the Default quiz point value box, enter a value, and click Save.
  4. If you desire to change the point value for a question:
    1. On the question, click Answer key.
    2. Enter the value and click Done.

Import quiz grades from Forms to Classroom

To import grades:

  • The quiz must be the only attachment on the assignment.
  • Students are express to one response and must be in the aforementioned domain as the teacher.
  • The form must collect student e-mail addresses.

If you lot change whatsoever of these settings or edit the assignment afterward y'all salve or postal service it, y'all might not be able to import grades.

Tip: If you adhere a form as a link in Classroom, you can't import student grades.

Import quiz grades

When you import grades, all grades are imported. Y'all tin can't select some grades to import. When you import the grades, the import overrides any current grades for the assignment. Therefore, if the Forms quiz is only 1 role of an assignment, import the quiz grades commencement.

To import grades:

  1. Click a classand then Classwork.
  2. Click the assignment with the quizand then View Assignment.
  3. On the Student Work folio, click Import Grades.

    Note: If you don't run into Import grades, your grade wasn't set upward as a quiz or yous didn't turn on Grade importing when y'all created the assignment.

  4. Click Import.

Classroom enters grades for each student. If y'all didn't assign points, the assignment is labeled ungraded.

Change grades after import

The grades in Forms and Classroom are separate. If you alter the grades in Forms later you import them to Classroom, click Import grades to bring the new grades into Classroom and overwrite the previous grades.

See student answers and render grades

To run across student answers:

  1. Click the classand then Classwork.
  2. On the quiz assignment, click the quiz attachment.
    View responses
  3. Click Edit"" and then Responses.

To return grades to students:

  1. Click the formand then Classwork.
  2. Click the quiz assignment.
  3. On the left, select the students you want to return grades to.
  4. Click Return and then Return to confirm.
